Description:  The yellow spheres represent silicon atoms and the green sphere a tungsten atom. The white cylinders represent the bonds between the atoms. By mixing vaporized tungsten with silicon gas in an ion trap, researchers completely encapsulated individual tungsten atoms in silicon.
